manipulate: To control something or someone to your advantage, often unfairly or dishonestly.

ex: She studied psychology at Harvard.
assume: To accept something to be true without question or proof.
ex: We can't assume the suspects to be guilty simply because they've decided to remain silent.
sensibly: Sensibly or practically.
ex: She wasn't very sensibly dressed for hiking.
