TED Talk： Inside the mind of a master procrastinator

 all-nighter： an event that lasts all night.

EX： I pulled an all-nighter last night.

thesis： a long piece of writing on a particular subject, especially one that is done for a higher college or university degree.

EX： A doctoral thesis.

gratification： pleasure or satisfaction, or something which provides this.

EX： Some people expect instant gratification.


In the beginning, the speaker says he also is a procrastinator, and in everybody's brain live a rational decision-maker, instant gratification monkey, and the panic monster. The monkey makes people do easy and funny things, then rational decision-maker doesn't work. Until the deadline panic monster will appear to push rational decision-maker work. There are two kinds of procrastinators one has a deadline and another doesn't have a deadline.

What's your short-term or long-term goal？How to turn your goals into reality?

 For me, the short-term goals are to get the certificate of senior Securities Specialist,  TOEIC scores of 700, and start investing in a stock. And my long-term goals are to become free of wealth and travel around the world with my family.  My strategy is to plan a daily schedule divided into four parts first is urgent and important second is important but not urgent third is urgent but not important and the last is not urgent also not important. My short-term goals will be put in not urgent but important. In this part will be my priorities to conduct in my free time such as study English an hour per day, read books of investment and the second are urgent and important things maybe school assignment or term projects.  In this way, I can closer and closer to my goals. My long-term goals will also be put in important but not urgent. Base on the knowledge I have learned, I can find a job and have a fixed salary then put NTD 5,000 dollars into the travel fund every month. Maybe travel one
